We would like to call for Candidates for the Head and two Vice-Heads of OISTAT Costume Design Group (CDG). The election will in June, 2015 at the Costume Design Group meeting held during Prague Quadrennial. The invitation to the Costume Design Group Meeting in Prague will be sent in early 2015. OISTAT members are encouraged to submit nominations to Lise Klitten (liseklitten@kulisse.dk) and OISTAT Headquarters (headquarters@oistat.org). Nomination deadline is March 6th, 2015.
The Candidate nominations should include a letter from the nominating member (be it an OISTAT Centre, Associate member or Individual member), the candidate’s CV and the candidate’s statement of intent.
The Costume Design Group (CDG) is the working group of OISTAT Performance Design which promotes the field of costume and disseminates information about the art and practice of costume design.
The group is a non-profit international platform for costume professionals from all over the world, connecting individuals as well as national or regional organizations of costume designers, scholars, and technicians. The aim is to share knowledge, exchange ideas, inform on artistic practice, develop research, and motivate creative and critical discourse on costume related issues within the widest possible range of costume practitioners and researchers around the world. Individual members, guests and interested parties are also welcome to participate in meetings and projects.
The Head of the Costume Design Group works in close collaboration with the Chair of OISTAT Performance Design, as well as with the Heads of the other working groups (Lighting and Sound Design). The Head of the Costume Design Group shall also organize working group meetings at least once a year to discuss projects, group-related affairs and collaborations with other commissions or working groups.
The new Costume Design Group Head and Vice-Heads will begin serving their four-year term immediately following the election. The CDG Head position is a maximum of two terms, or a total of eight years.
Election Guidelines
Some additional notes regarding the election of Head and Vice-Heads of the OISTAT Costume Design Group:
1. Members of OISTAT are eligible to be elected as Heads and Vice-Heads of the OISTAT Costume Design Group (CGD), provided they have attended at least one meeting of the Group since the previous PQ (PQ 2011).
2. This candidate slate will be made public at least two months before the CDG meeting at Prague Quadrennial in 2015.
3. All members of CDG are eligible to vote provided that they have attended at least one CDG meeting since Prague Quadrennial 2011.
4. The Head of CDG will be verifying the eligibility of voting members after the CDG meeting registrations close in 2015.
5. Election of Head and Vice Heads will take place by secret ballot.
6. The candidate for Head of CDG who has the highest number of votes cast will become Head of CDG.
7. If such a result is not obtained during the first election, then a second election will be held between the two candidates with the highest number of votes. If two candidates have equally received the second highest number of votes, then an election shall first be held between these two candidates.
8. The Vice Head candidates who have the two highest numbers of votes amongst candidates will become Vice Heads.
9. Ideally, the CDG Head and Vice Heads will represent different continents, and, at a minimum, different countries.
10. Should the Head resign or otherwise leave office during his/her term of office, the Group will by the same procedures appoint an Interim Head to hold office until the next scheduled election or until its next meeting.
