The Costume Design Group (CDG) is the working group of OISTAT Performance Design which promotes the field of costume and disseminates information about the art and practice of costume design.

The group is a non-profit international platform for costume professionals from all over the world, connecting individuals as well as national or regional organizations of costume designers, scholars, and technicians. The aim is to share knowledge, exchange ideas, inform on artistic practice, develop research, and motivate creative and critical discourse on costume related issues within the widest possible range of costume practitioners and researchers around the world. Individual members, guests and interested parties are also welcome to participate in meetings and projects.

The Head of the Costume Design Group works in close collaboration with the Chair of OISTAT Performance Design, as well as with the Heads of the other working groups (Lighting and Sound Design). The new Costume Design Group Head and Vice-Heads will begin serving their four-year term immediately following the election. The CDG Head position is a maximum of two terms, or a total of eight years.
