Costume Design Working Group Program in WSD 2017

Feb 6, 2017

Dear CDG,

As you already know, we are preparing a special costume programme for our next encounter, which will take place during World Stage Design 2017 in Taipei, from 1 July to 9 July 2017.

The programme of costume events for WSD2017, on which we have been working, will include lectures, panels, FlashTalks, meetings, workshops and a costume research seminar. The majority of the content is based on the proposals some of you offered when we sent out an open call to all CDG members last year.

After receiving from the WSD2017 organizers the approval for our plans a few days ago, we made the attached timetable. Please, take a look and plan your trip.

The detailed information with the sessions and presenters' names will be sent in March 2017.

Please note that there are still available slots for presenters in the FlashTalks section. FlashTalks are open to all CDG members who are interested in presenting their own costume work (artistic practice, research or other) through images, with emphasis on visual presentation, in a short format (8 minutes/each). If you wish to present a FlashTalk, please send your topic and a short description of max. 150 words until 28 February 2017 to: rybakovasimona@gmail.com, with copy (cc) to: sofsceno@gmail.com and romuniz@gmail.com.

At WSD2017 there will be a gallery exhibition, which some of our members were selected for. There will also be the OISTAT Congress (3 and 4 July 2017) and meetings (CDG meeting on 5 July 2017, tbc). Be aware that these meetings will be important to discuss some structural changes and to talk about CDG future projects.

WSD2017 will also include many other events, performances, workshops and presentations. So, advance planning is very important. If you need more information on the general  programme, visit the WSD2017 official website or contact OISTAT Headquarters.

If you have a specific costume question or idea, don't hesitate to contact us.

We cannot wait to see you all next July!
