On November 6th - 8th, the OISTAT Publication and Communication Commission (PCC) will be meeting in-person at the MEET 2024 International Trade Fair for Event Technology & Trade Conference for Events and Theater in Vienna, Austria.
Theme for the PCC Meeting: “Conversation, Collaboration and Communication”
The choice of this particular theme is to offer space for both projects and on-going works that promote these particular characteristics. It is also to give some parameters because while we do enjoy to see and hear about your work, our focus for this meeting should be within the field of what the commission is tasked to do. With the assistance of Mr. Larry Busch and the OISTAT Austria Centre, OETHG, we look forward to having you come and be a part of this event.
Guidelines
- Colloquialisms - An informal presentation of a realized project or subject from no further back than the last 3 years. A project that has had recent or semi-recent presentation and you’d like to share.
- Person-to-Person Conversation - A conversation / interview with a panel or person of your choosing. If you choose to do a panel, we ask that they should be no bigger than 3 people including a moderator, if necessary
- Round Table / Group Talks - Bring a topic, a challenge, maybe even a current situation that needs workshopping. This can be something from your professional experiences and is in need of feedback. If you are an educator, maybe you have one challenges from your classroom and institution that you’d like to address.
- Paper Presentations / Poster Session - Projects that are just getting started and could use feedback. Ideally these would be projects from the last 6 to 12 months.
What is expected - In person
- Time and speaking slots can be a challenge in these meetings. A concise presentation should be no longer than 8 to 10 minutes with space to take a question or two at the end. We may cap the presentation time at 15 minutes depending on the volume of submissions.
- If you have a presentation that requires any kind of video or audio interface, please make that clear as well so that needs can be met.
- Any reference materials or handouts from your presentation we would prefer be delivered electronically (e.g. email, QR code, basecamp upload, website, etc)
- Be prepared, please. The best presentations are ones that are well rehearsed and have had the bugs worked out before hand. If you are presenting live and are in need of screen sharing for your presentation, please let us know so that access can be granted.
- Questions: It is important to leave space in the agenda to have time for questions. Time will be limited, so that may mean that we will not be able to address all questions within the time frame of the meeting.
