International Theatre Design Exhibition is an exhibition showcasing international performance design across all design disciplines, featuring both professional and emerging sections. This exhibition is an unique event made by designers for designers, where individuals are empowered to submit their work directly for competitive exhibitions that explore the breadth and diversity of international design practice.
Different from the Prague Quadrennial, which focuses on countries and regions, the WSD International Theatre Design Exhibition is the first and only competitive exhibition centered around individual designers. It celebrates how these designers critically and creatively respond to various live performances, from drama, opera, dance to new media, within their unique environments or creative spaces. Instead of being governed by national curatorial boards, WSD is judged by an international panel of experts with various experiences and expertise in different fields including stage, space, sound, light, multimedia design, etc.
