We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our great friend, Ralph Koltai on 15 December 2018. A pioneer of British Theatre Design, and a founder member of The Society of British Theatre Designers (SBTD). His designs were at the centre of changing 20th century British Scenography and his influence was far reaching, his use of new and innovative materials and the sculptural qualities of the stages he created paved the way for generations of designers across the globe.
OISTAT and the worldwide members of OISTAT express our heartfelt sympathy and condolences for Mr. Ralph Koltai’s family, colleagues and friends, our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Mr. Ralph Koltai was an extraordinary stage designer and an important friend of many of us. He will be truly missed.
