OISTAT Headquarters to Stay in Taiwan through 2030




On August 23, OISTAT President Aby Cohen and Deputy Minister Lí Tsīng-huī of Ministry of Culture Taiwan signed a new agreement, extending OISTAT's headquarters in Taiwan until 2030. This marks the third renewal of our partnership, affirming a shared commitment to cultural exchange and fostering opportunities for the international theatre community. With this renewed partnership, OISTAT will continue to build a global theatre network, celebrating diversity and supporting the next generation of live performance professionals. Alongside the signing ceremony, the "To Future Theatre and Beyond – Sustainability in Theatre Design and Technology Symposium" on August 23 and 25, co-hosted by OISTAT and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), brought together theatre professionals and international experts from 10 countries. This symposium explored sustainable practices in theatre design, technology, and performance, offering insights, networking opportunities, and global dialogues across diverse fields. Open Call|Sound Kitchen 2025

Let your sound be heard! OISTAT Sound Design Sub-Commission invites sound designers and composers worldwide to showcase their work at Sound Kitchen, part of Scenofest 2025 at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) from October 18-25. This event offers a platform for performances, demonstrations, and discussions in a listening-friendly space. Open to all forms of sound design, participants can present compositions, sound art, or scores for live entertainment. Submit your entry by October 7, 2024, and make your mark on the international stage!

SENA 2024 - Southern European & Northern African
OISTAT Scenography Forum and Festival

 



SENA 2024, hosted by OISTAT Serbian Centre, SCEN, celebrates contemporary performance design from Southern Europe and Northern Africa in Novi Sad, Serbia. In partnership with the Biennale of Scene Design, this third edition, following events in Morocco and Egypt, features exhibitions, talks, and workshops. "Practices That Speak" responds to our challenging times, emphasizing community-building through artistic collaboration. Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design 2024

 



The 5th Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design, hosted by OISTAT Georgian Centre, Valerian Gunia Union of Young Theatre Artists, will take place from September 25 to October 5, 2024, in Tbilisi. This biennale presents a platform for young stage designers to engage with contemporary scenography trends from the Caucasus and beyond. The agenda features exhibitions, excursions, an international symposium on “Culture and Crises,” a masterclass on prosthetic makeup for theatres, and more. Admission to all events is free. Visit Tbilisi for this celebration of creativity and innovation in stage design!
