OISTAT Corner: A space for dialogue and cultural exchange
Oct 18 - 25, 2025 09:30 am - 09:30 pm
Studio Theatre Foyer, SPAA
OISTAT Corner is a place where theatre professionals from around the world connect, share ideas, and celebrate diversity and creativity, expressing the core values of OISTAT community.
The diversity of OISTAT is reflected in the global network of theatre professionals it serves. With its base in Taipei, OISTAT thrives in an environment that embraces openness, freedom, and a wide range of cultural perspectives.
Theater in the Brain is an immersive VR experience that transforms individual consciousness into digital creation. Inside a ritual space, each visitor wears a VR headset and brainwave sensor that visualize mental activity into vivid, living digital forms. These virtual creatures breathe, evolve, and respond in real time, shaped by the viewer’s thoughts, emotions, and subtle movements.
Inspired by Taiwan’s traditional Hakka Tulou (Roundhouse), architectural spaces where community, ritual, and daily life coexist, the work reimagines this circular form as a contemporary arena of collective consciousness. Blending generative art, virtual reality, and human connection, Theater in the Brain invites participants to explore illusion, perception, and the shared rhythm of the human mind, witnessing how their inner thoughts can merge into a living, ever-changing theatre of the brain.
