Set and costume designer from Ukraine. She was engaged in monumental art. Also participated in the painting of St. Michael's Cathedral in Zhytomyr (2011), managed by Denis Belyanskiy. Co-author of the metal panel on the steps between Landscape Walk and Gonchar-Kozhumyak in Kyiv, architect Yurii Kovalev, sculptor Kostiantin Sinitsky (2018). Shw was also engaged in easel painting, taking part in various projects and exhibitions. The paintings are in private collections as well as in the collections of the Museum of History of Kyiv. (CV)
Nino Gunia-Kuznetsova (Georgia/ Director of Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design)
Curator, Art manager, Cultural Policy Expert. Nino Gunia-Kuznetsova graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1988. In 2004 she was awarded a scientific pedagogical title of Docent of Fine Arts. She is the founder and executive director of Valerian Gunia Union of Young Theatre Artists – Georgian National Center of OISTAT (1998) and the founder and art director of Tbilisi Biennial of Stage Design (2016). She is a member of the Professional Union of Georgian Artists and the Theater Union of Georgia. (CV)
Allan Tsui (Hong Kong/ Scenographer, curator and lecturer at the Hong Kong Design Institute)
Allan Tsui is a Hong Kong scenographer, curator and lecturer at the Hong Kong Design Institute. He received his education from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Allan has designed for more than two hundred theatre productions. His recent stage designs including Jon Fosse’s “Winter” in 2021 for Hong Kong Repertory Theatre and “FREESPACE Jazz Fest” in 2021 for West Kowloon Cultural District. Exhibition designs including The Hong Kong Association for Theatre Technicians and Scenographers (HKATTS) presents, “Hong Kong Pavilion: ALL-IN-ONE” in PQ 2019. He is currently Project Advisor of HKATTS, Programme Leader of the Hong Kong Design Institute.
In recent years, all of us who work with and support live performances have been profoundly affected by global events, from the pandemic to the increasing of restrictions of many kinds. At this year's OISTAT Hub in Prague, we would like to highlight Theatre and its Resilience and our potential to continue to strive to create events that aim to provoke critical reflection on the world we live in and our strength to speak up and awake to current and future issues.
Theatre and Resilience: Scenography in Conflict Regions is an ode to the individual and our ability to stay creative, motivated and connected despite the borders and heightened limits. Our guest speakers are, therefore, from regions still threatened by ongoing conflicts, and which have shown incredible resilience in breaking down these barriers. At the OISTAT Hub Forum, they share their experiences, visions and inspirations, inviting all of us to reflect on the constraints we face in our own zones and practices, and to recall that there is a space to share about it within our international community.
