Chair of Performance Design Commission Markéta Fantová to be the New Artistic Director for PQ 2019

Prague Quadrennial (PQ), a world-known international festival of theater and stage design since 1967. On its 14th edition, a new artistic director Markéta Fantová and her team will help to create a concept for the PQ in 2019; managing activities of the international artistic teams and also participating in the organization for short-term projects at the same time. Markéta Fantová is a native of Prague, Czech Republic. She received her BFA in Scenography from the Academy of Performing Arts – DAMU and her MFA in Set Design from Wayne State University in Detroit. From 2014 onwards, Fantová teaches scenography at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, United States. Her costume and set design were included in many exhibitions around Europe and the US such as PQ 2007 and on the World Stage Design Exhibition in Seoul in 2009. She is the Chair of Performance Design Commission in OISTAT and currently serves on the Board of United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) as Vice-President for International Activities. The 14th edition of the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space will be held in June 2019.
