Fiona is UK Performance Design Commissioner for OISTAT and co-chairs the Space Design Sub-commission with Rob Eastman Mullins (USA).
She is Chair of the Society of British Theatre Designers (SBTD), the professional association that celebrates and supports the work of designers for performance (scenographers, set and costume designers) based in the UK.

She has lectured at a variety of institutions throughout the UK and is a director of The Designers Formation, the only agency in the UK exclusively representing performance designers.
Fiona co-curated Design as Performance for WSD2013 and has led projects with international emerging and student practitioners at PQ2011, PQ2015 and PQ2019.
She is curator for Staging Places: UK Design for Performance which represented the UK at PQ2019 before taking up residency at the V&A, London. The exhibition will tour to the National Centre for Craft and Design from September 2020 with all appropriate social distancing measures in place, accompanied by a physical and virtual education/professional development programme.

Her freelance career as a scenographer and creative producer includes initiating and leading local and international socially engaged projects using the design process to activate storytelling and engagement with urban regeneration and place-making.
