Costume Design Sub-commission Newsletter December 2017

Dec 13, 2017

Dear OISTAT Costume members,

It was great to meet with you all in Taipei during WSD 2017. It was very busy time for all of us, but also inspiring and full of interesting meetings and connecting events. For those who did not attend this event and are still interested in Costume activities and plans for the future, this is a Newsletter with updates!

Please read our news carefully:
1. Minutes from the PDC/C meeting in Taipei
We recommend you to read the minutes of the Performance Design Commission / Costume business meeting in Taipei on the OISTAT website by clicking here.

2. OISTAT PDC/C meeting in 2018
Following the preliminary expressions of interest discussed in Taipei about hosting an OISTAT Performance Design / Costume meeting in the future, the leaders received only one official invitation for 2018.

This official invitation came from the President of the Spanish OISTAT Centre, José Luis Ferrera, who had personally presented the tentative invitation at our business meeting in Taipei.

Therefore, we would like to inform you that we were delighted to accept the invitation by the Spanish OISTAT Centre, and our meeting next year will take place in Madrid, on May 18-20, 2018.

The meeting will be organized and hosted by the Asociación OISTAT España (Association OISTAT Spain) in collaboration with the Asociación de Artistas Plásticos Escénicos de España (Association of Scenic Plastic Artists of Spain - AAPEE).

We are currently working together with our Spanish colleagues to create a rich and inspiring program, and we hope that many of our members will be able to join.

We really believe that meeting with colleagues from this new OISTAT centre will be very important for them to become part of our big international family. We are also sure that their professional and cultural background will be very inspiring for us.

To help our Spanish host, we need to know your tentative interest and possibility to come to this meeting. Please let us know if you are planning to come to Madrid in May 2018 by confirming your plans with us by 20th  December 2017.

3. Performance Design Commission / Costume program in Taipei
We are currently working on a document of our program from Taipei, which will be rich with content as well as visual documentation to inform also those who were not present. We intend to upload it on our website before the end of this year. Please follow our web pages from time  to time. You will find it hopefully soon.

4. PQ’19
The Prague Quadrennial 2019 deadline to apply for the competitive exhibitions (Exhibition of Countries and Regions, the Performance Space Architecture Exhibition – Our Theatre of the World, and the Student Exhibition) through the open call for each participating country and its own appointed curators was on 31st October 2017.

But PQ’19 will have open calls for other projects.
