OISTAT Performance Design Newsletter 2013

Commission’s annual meeting in Cardiff voted for the commission’s new name to be Performance Design. OISTAT Congress (all OISTAT Centres, associate and individual members of OISTAT attending) in Cardiff voted for the new statutes of OISTAT, including the commission’s new name to be Performance Design. The majority accepted both suggestions.


This package contains much important information:

I’ve been waiting to send the minutes of the commission meeting in the same letter, but the secretary of the Cardiff meeting is in the middle of the last rehearsals before opening night - I will send them later.

Many warm tanks to Jean-Guy Lecat of his interesting presentation about "Teatro aperto in Italy - illegal occupation to save abandoned theatre" at our meeting! 

 

• In elections at Cardiff as the new Head of OISTAT Performance Design’s Sound Design Group was elected Joe Pino (USA) and as the Associative Head George Christou (Cyprus).
• Henk van der Geest (Netherlands) will step down after 14 years of being the Head of Lighting Design Group of OISTAT Performance Design. Elections will be held in 2014.

• PLEASE NOTICE: IF any WORKING GROUP or commission would like to suggest projects for PQ15 – ideas should be sent to Sodja Lotker sodja.lotker@pq.cz BY THE END of this year.
• There will be a call from PQ15 for individuals to be leaders in projects and activities in the beginning of 2014.
• At PQ15 will not be any Scenofest organized by OISTAT – or no financial support for any projects from OISTAT.

 

2. INTERNATIONAL ASSISTING SYSTEM of the commission members for young practitioners.

Please think of this further. Some young volunteers (with blue T-shirts) came to me after meeting – that they would really appreciate this kind of system (more in the minutes) if we could create one.

Motion in the meeting: we could create a list at OISTAT WebPages with names and email addresses – which are willing to start to be mentors and have assistants. I already have one volunteer’s name! Please, send me more!


3. OISTAT PERFORMANCE DESIGN GALLERY
If you want to change your image at OISTAT Performance Design Gallery or you would like to add your image – please contact me! (Gallery includes now 50 images from different designers.) If you have any other information – you would like to add to our WebPages under Performance Design – please contact me.
 

4. NEW WORKING GROUP
A group of people came to me after Cardiff meeting, saying that they are willing to form a working group called Scenography. Waiting to hear more about it.
 

5. INVITATIONS FOR COMMISSION’S MEETING PLACES needed!
We will have a meeting in Brazil at 2014. All other meeting are still open. Please contact me – if you are thinking to invite Performance Design. Also low budget meeting invitations are accepted.
